Sponsoring a house is a unique & individualized way to provide support and build a direct relationship with houseparents and youth at Christ’s Haven.
House Sponsors can include a variety of volunteer types: Corporate Groups / Church Groups / Families / Couples / Individuals
Two ways to help as a House Sponsor:
Financial Support & Volunteer
Financial Support Examples:
*Purchase fun events/activities for the family to attend
*Purchase meals for the house
*Monthly contribution for utilities
*Purchase back-to-school clothes, school supplies, summer camps, birthday gifts/parties, sports leagues
Volunteer Support Examples:
*Babysitting (8 hours or less per month)
*Backup caregiver (overnight or weekend), workdays
*Household help, such as preparing meals, laundry, house projects/decorating, etc.
*Spending time with kids in the house
This is a volunteer position with no compensation and requires the following:
*Meeting with houseparent & Christ’s Haven staff
*Complete the volunteer application online
*Attend an info session online or in-person
*Monthly call or check-in with houseparents
If spending time in the house, a background check for anyone 14 years old + and older and the same training as babysitters
