Our Family Model of Care is at the core of everything we do at Christ’s Haven For Children. While we know we can’t replace all that they’ve lost with their biological family, we can provide the tangible benefits of family. Including a father figure in their life.
Every child at Christ’s Haven lives in our neighborhood of homes with a married couple caring for them as houseparents. Each set of houseparents care for 6-8 children in their home. A typical day probably looks a lot like your family with schoolwork, extracurricular activities, and dinners gathered together around the table at the end of the day.
We know there is evidence that the presence of a positive father figure yields lifelong benefits as a child grows into adulthood including healthier relationships, less high-risk behaviors, and fewer mental health struggles (Fatherly.com).
Is there someone in your life who did the same for you?
Will you donate to provide a trauma-informed, family model of care for displaced youth? Your gift provides a positive father figure in a child’s life each and every day.
