National Thrift Shop Day is a day to celebrate at Christ’s Haven!
Each year, 3,000+ people donate their gently used home furnishings and clothing at the Christ’s Haven Resale Shop. Those items are sold at the store, and all proceeds go to Christ’s Haven’s trauma-informed, family model of care. This has become a significant funding source for Christ’s Haven, accounting for 13% of annual revenue.
But that’s not all.
The store has also become a way to help families in crisis. We have provided furniture and home decor to Christ’s Haven’s Family Resource Center clients who are trying to keep their families together. From a woman moving into a new house, escaping a domestic violence relationship, to a single parent moving into an apartment after being homeless.
Items from the store are given free of charge and used to help a family create a home and build memories together.
We celebrate Christ’s Haven Resale Shop donors, customers, and staff who make all of this possible.
The old saying goes, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” At Christ’s Haven, that treasure looks like a future full of Hope.
